Domain Cost Calculator: What a Name Really Costs
A domain's price tag is only the start. Work out what one name, or a portfolio, really costs to hold over the years.
Calculate your holding cost
Enter the prices from your registrar. Nothing is sent anywhere; the sums run in your browser.
Total cost of holding
| Year | Paid this year | Total so far |

Why renewals matter more than the first year
Registrars often discount the first year. The renewal price is what you pay every year after that, and for some country codes it is several times the cost of a .com. Premium names can also renew at premium prices.
For domain investors, holding cost is the hidden side of every name: a portfolio of 100 names at $40 a year costs $4,000 a year before any sale. Read more in investing in ccTLDs.
Minimum terms
Some extensions must be registered for more than one year at a time. .ai, for example, has a two-year minimum for registrations and renewals. Choose "2 years" above to see how that changes when you pay.
